Every night of the Stanley Cup playoffs, TSN hockey analyst and former NHL goaltender Jamie McLennan breaks down each goalies performance. Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Tuukka Rask, Boston (4) - Outstanding in first period, gave Boston chance to settle in, big saves on Datsyuk and Tatar in second period to keep it close at 2-1. Robbed Abdelkader in OT, cant stress enough how poised he is in the net, makes it look easy, and rarely out of position. Jonas Gustavsson, Detroit (4) - Surprise start, responded well, especially not busy early but showed great poise, no chance on first goal as it was tipped in front. Not overly challenged but got better and more confident as the game went on, Big saves on Soderberg and Eriksson in OT, no chance on the game winner as it was deflected twice. Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles (4) - Locked in early on, with big saves on Burns and Pavelski, explosive saves on Marleau and Vlasic in the third to preserve the lead. He better managed his crease, not as erratic and out of control as we have seen last few games. Antti Niemi, San Jose (2) - Big saves on King and Richards early in game, second goal was stoppable based on a tough angle shot that he is unable to corral, had rebound issues all night long that cost him, not as sharp as he has been in past games. Semyon Varlamov, Colorado (4) - Putting a show on again, the only reason the Avs were in the game after the first period. His crease work is so fast and explosive, very tough to beat him low as well as in tight. Parise, Koivu, McCormick, Spurgeon, Brodziak, Granlund, Moulson (three times) and Pominville for starters had great chances, not much chance on both goals on a one-timer from slot and bad bounce off the back board. He is the only reason this series has been close. Darcy Kuemper, Minnesota (4) - Tough mentally to watch the goalie at the other end standing on his head and face all the shots. He was not busy whatsoever, the goal looked to hit his own man in front and go five-hole, but showed poise when needed to get the win and saved his best work for the last few minutes with big saves on Benoit and OReilly. Had a few puck handling issues that almost cost him, but kept it on the rails, solid again. Зарегистрируйтесь, чтобы увидеть ссылку! . Speaking on TSN Radio 1050s TSN Drive with Dave Naylor on Monday, Colangelo said he had no intention of tanking the shortened 2011-12 season, but definitely wanted a high pick in the draft. "I wish that word wasnt used for headline reasons," said Colangelo, "but the story behind it was: how can we fix the system? How can we tweak the system to make it less likely that teams are rewarded for losing records? "I do believe that if youre as transparent as we were at the time - with our season seat holders, our fans, the market place and the media - everybody knew what the plan was and what we were going through. Atlanta improved to 2-0 on the residency with Saturdays 93-91 triumph over Minnesota, as Ivan Johnson scored his teams final four points, including the game-winning free throw with 4.NEW YORK -- Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira will be sidelined for at least three games because of a strained muscle in his back, the latest injury to slow the teams leading run producer. Teixeira has been hampered by a left lower lat injury that was causing spasms in his back for about a month. The pain escalated during New Yorks weekend sweep of the Cincinnati Reds immediately following the All-Star break. "Throwing, hitting -- anything with any type of rotation, its been pretty painful," Teixeira said Monday before the Yankees played the Texas Rangers. "The spasms, unfortunately, have gone from my neck to my lower back, up and down the whole time. We just kind of put the fires out, and finally when the pain ratcheted up, it was one spot." An MRI administered Sunday showed a mild strain of the muscle. Teixeira was set to have a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection Monday night and will most likely sit out the entire four-game series against Texas.dddddddddddd The Yankees will reevaluate Teixeira in a few days but manager Joe Girardi didnt think the injury would send Teixeira to the disabled list. "I think if we were concerned, really concerned, wed put him on the DL right away," Girardi said. After missing all but 15 games last season because of a wrist injury that needed surgery, Teixeira was looking forward to playing a full season. Its hardly gone as planned for the 34-year-old switch-hitter. He already has missed 21 games this year because of hamstring, back, knee and wrist problems. But he still leads the Yankees with 17 homers and 48 RBIs in 76 games. He is hitless in his last 13 at-bats. "I thought the year off last year would kind of give me a fountain of youth and its just made me rusty," Teixeira said. "Thats the way it feels. Its been something. Every game, its something. Im still happy with the way Ive played when Im healthy." ' ' '
