Lewis Hamilton refused to answer questions from journalists at his press briefing following qualifying for the Japanese GP. Hamilton said he was reacting to coverage of his use of Snapchat during Thursdays press conference. The other day was a super light-hearted thing and if I was disrespectful to any of you guys, or if you felt I was disrespectful, it was honestly not the intention. It was just a little bit of fun, Hamilton said in a calm, but short, address to the assembled media. But what was more disrespectful was what was then written worldwide. Unfortunately, there are some people here [and] its not them thats done it and unfortunately the decision I will take affects those who have been super supportive. Thats why Im saying its with the utmost respect.I dont really plan on sitting here many more times for these kind of things. My apologies, and I hope you guys enjoy the rest of the weekend. The Formula 1 Gossip column The latest rumour and speculation from the F1 paddock It remains to be seen how Hamiltons refusal is depicted by the snubbed media corps. You might read about Lewis Hamilton storming out of a Merc press briefing just now. He didnt, tweeted Sky F1s Ted Kravitz. He simply said that the reaction to Thurs press conf had disappointed him and he wasnt going to answer questions. LH wished everyone a good rest of weekend and left. Totally his prerogative. A classic bit of F1 off-track tension.Appearing distracted and uninterested, Hamilton was widely criticised by sections of the media for failing to engage during Thursdays conference, preferring instead to film his fellow drivers on Snapchat. One newspaper described Hamilton as a Snap-prat and claimed the bored Brit took a swipe at F1, while another claimed the world champion had moaned on the mobile application.Media snap back at Hamilton over distracted press conferenceLater that evening, Hamilton posted on Twitter: Today was meant to be fun, not at all disrespectful. Some people take themselves too seriously. I had a blast, highlight of my day!Re press conference, its been the same for 10 years. Its not the media or mediator, its the format. Fans should be asking the questions!! LOUIS - The Rams took a step toward lame-duck status in St. Louis and a possible move back to the West Coast, notifying the citys Convention and Visitors Commission on Monday that they intend to shift to a year-to-year lease agreement for their use of the Edward Jones Dome. The CVC, which operates the dome, confirmed the move Monday. The Rams referred comments to the CVC and general reaction was that it was a procedural step. While the lease will now run year-to-year, all other lease terms remain the same, CVC president Kitty Ratcliffe said in a statement. We look forward to working with Rams management in preparation for the 2015 football season in the Edward Jones Dome.Rams billionaire owner Stan Kroenke is part of a joint venture that announced plans earlier this month for an 80,000-seat stadium in the Los Angeles suburbs. Any move would be subject to approval by the NFL and its owners. The NFL has already said no moves would be made in time for next season.Kroenke has been unavailable for comment.Under terms of a 30-year lease agreement reached in 1995, the Rams had the ability to convert the lease to annual terms if the dome was not deemed among the top 25 per cent of NFL stadiums based on various criteria. The team had until Wednesday to tell the city of its plans.ddddddddddddThe CVC had little chance of meeting the standards given 22 of 32 teams are playing in stadiums built after 1995.St. Louis officials are working directly with the NFL in efforts to keep football in the nations 20th-largest market and have proposed a new stadium just north of the dome. Kroenke has repeatedly declined comment.Los Angeles, the nations second-largest market, has been without a team since 1995 when the Raiders moved back to Oakland and the Rams moved from Anaheim to St. Louis.Kroenke bought the Rams in 2010 after owner Georgia Frontiere died. The dome is outdated mostly because so many new stadiums have been built since the lease agreement.Prior to Kroenkes purchase, the Rams and CVC had worked together on incremental improvements to the dome. Negotiations about a stadium overhaul began in early 2012 but sides remained far apart. The commission had proposed a new glass addition, outdoor terraces and a new scoreboard, improvements of less than $200 million, with the Rams picking up half of the cost. The Rams countered with a more elaborate and expensive plan featuring a sliding roof that city officials said would cost at least $700 million.___Online:AP NFL website: Зарегистрируйтесь, чтобы увидеть ссылку! and Зарегистрируйтесь, чтобы увидеть ссылку!
